Middle Period Bi Rong jiu Chinese Snuff Bottle

This is a very rare one, and was extremely fortunate to have been able and add it to my collection !

Bi Rongjiu was the first one in Shandong who began painting inside bottles in 1893.
At that time he had a friend who made bottles and provided them to Zhou Leyuan
and other painters.

Bi learned something about inside painting, tried it, and eventually
succeeded. His paintings were never very good but he is remembered primarily
as the founder of the Shandong School of inside painting.

The rest of the script reads, "For the full appreciation of Sui tang ren"

The Fisherman represents one of the four honoured professions.
