Inside Painted Chinese Snuff Bottle

Unsigned, and undated ..

Mountain/landscape, and landscape/fisherman scenes.

3" tall...

Interestingg similarities to a painting by Ni Yun Lin 倪雲林. He was one of the 4 masters of the Yuan Dynasty. He liked to put a couple of trees or a gazebo (like the one on the bottle) in the foreground without anyone around.

The idea is to convey an emptiness associated with the nature. Unfortunately, this artist of this bottle added another house on the background. The Chinese described this as "adding legs to on a painted snake".

Your artist may be wrong. Looks more "Shitao". One of only two artist commissioned to paint for the Imperial Palace, The other is Dong Qinchang. Both blood related to the Ming Dynasty
